Creating strong partnerships with industry colleagues can be a very important factor in whether your affiliate program sinks or swims. It should come as no surprise that networking is key in the affiliate marketing industry, but how do you take those relationships to the next level? We asked the experts (our partners) for affiliate marketing tips on building stronger, more successful business relationships in 2016. This is what they had to say:

“For a more diverse affiliate program, create a strategy that attracts different types of affiliates – including coupon, loyalty, incentive, content, blogs and display partners. Do this by providing them with the assets, tools, and commissions they need to be successful. Review your data regularly, and optimize as needed to meet your goals.”
-Sal Conca, Co-Founder of Streamline Marketing

“Consider offering an exclusive offer to a media partner, in exchange for premium placement. For instance, if you have a new coupon, offer it to one coupon site exclusively (even if for a limited period of time) in exchange for guaranteed rotation in premium inventory on their home page. After the “embargo” period elapses, you can then distribute the offer freely to other sites.”
-Adam Glazer, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Partner Commerce

“Pay attention to the way that your contacts prefer to hear from you. Just because you prefer to conduct business over the phone does not mean everybody else does, too. Ask them upfront if they’d like to communicate via phone, email, Skype, or somewhere else. The insistence of using the phone could cost you a relationship before it gets started.”
-Shawn Collins, Co-Founder of Affiliate Summit
